Mega popstar Taylor Swift is bringing back her old album release parties, but on a grander scale.
Starting on Oct. 3, the same day her new album “The Life of a Showgirl” drops, “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” will hit movie screens in thousands of theaters across the country and will feature the premiere of the first music video from the new album, “The Fate of Ophelia.”
The 89-minute “party” will run from Friday through Sunday at all 540 AMC Theatres locations, along with thousands of non-AMC places, including Cinemark and Regal theaters. Screenings will begin simultaneously at 3 p.m. ET on Oct. 3.
The theater party will also include behind-the-scenes footage from the music video, lyrics videos for other songs on the album, and Swift’s “never-before-seen personal reflections” about those new songs, Variety reported.
AMC is leaning into the concert-like vibe, encouraging fans to sing and dance (with a few safety caveats) and promising no ads or trailers.
On Swift’s Instagram, she posted a new movie poster with the caption, “I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirée… looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional, but very much encouraged.”
