The day before, the building of Kxtv, an ABC affiliate station owned by Tegna, was the site of a protest over the network’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! No protesters were at the building when shots were fired.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired at the TV station shortly after 1:30 pm Friday. Gamble said at least three gunshots were fired from a passing vehicle into a window of the building, which was occupied at the time. Police did not have a description of the suspect vehicle, nor do they have any suspects.
Detectives were at the scene and investigating whether the shooting was random or targeted.
