Mehcad Brooksleft the show at the end of Season 24, with Deadline reporting in July 2025 that his exit was a mutual one. Producers reportedly got to work casting a new detective to replace Brooks’ Jalen Shaw, but no casting announcements have been announced as of this writing in September 2025.
