Famous Faces Missing From Hollywood Walk Of Fame

The Dancing With the Stars Season 34 premiere came and went, bringing some fans to tears in the process, and now, going into week two of the competition, the lines have officially been drawn when it comes to how the celebs are doing.

The ABC show saw 14 couples take to the floor and perform their best cha chas, tangos, salsas and jives, with some causing jaws to drop, and others leaving viewers at home cringing.

Though the show is now being caught in the crosshairs of drama at ABC following the axing of Jimmy Kimmel, the premiere was still a smash success–earning impressive ratings and a massive uptick in votes cast.

Not only did a few surprises take place, but the show managed to still do hat it does best–let celebrities shine as they attempt to leave it all on the dance floor.

Here’s a roundup of how the night played out…

A Tie for First–Because of a Scoring Error

Robert Irwin and Whitney Leavitt came out on top for the night, with each earning 15 points for their respective jive and tango routines.

However, the tie was due to a scoring error, as Bruno keyed in an 8 for Whitney and Mark’s routine–but then held up his 7 paddle when revealing the score.

Because he keyed in an 8 though, that was the score that had to be upheld, regardless of which paddle he held up. As such, Whitney’s original reported score of 14 out of 20 was changed to a 15.

Female Celebs Dominate With Top Scores-and Nostalgia

While Robert Irwin was also at the top, the best performances of the night all came from female celebrities. Hlaria Baldwin, Lauren Jauregui, and Alix Earle took the second and third place rankings on the judges’ leaderboard, with 14 and 13 points, respectively, for their routines.

Following them in a three-way tie with 12 points each were Danielle Fishel, Jen Affleck and Elaine Hendrix, who each performed well with their routines, but also brought huge touches of nostalgia into the ballroom.

Fishel wowed fans with her routine, proving she had grown up from her days as Topanga Lawrence on Boy Meets World, while Elaine Hendrix embraced her evil persona of Meredith Blake from the Parent Trap, starting off her performance while wearing a wide-brimmed black hat, and even incorporating the film’s iconic handshake into her routine.

A Two-Way Tie For Last Between Two Legends

Finally, the night ended with two legends–one in film, the other in comedy–tying at the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard, with a mere nine points out of 20 from the judges.

Corey Feldman and Andy Richter, the two oldest competitors in the competition, quickly found themselves now in a place where redemption may be key in order to survive, or they, like other older stars before them, could wind up suffering from early exits.

Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+.
