Former Dancing with the Stars contestant Lindsay Arnold has stepped up to defend the current cast and crew after what she described as a wave of personal attacks and harsh criticism following the season 34 premiere.
In a video posted to TikTok two days after the show’s debut, Arnold, 31, said she felt onligated to speak out against what she called “mean” and damaging comments.
“I’ve seen it all,” Arnold said in the video, following fans commenting on season 34.
“Literally, a video or a comment made about every single pro, about the judges, about the hosts, about the troupe, and it’s making me sick. I literally feel sick to my stomach.”
“You understand that these are real people, right?”
Referencing fictional characters from the popular series The Summer I Turned Pretty, she added, “This is not Conrad, Belly and Jeremiah. This isn’t made-up TV where everyone’s playing a role. These are real people doing their actual jobs.”
Arnold, who last competed on Season 30, didn’t hide her frustration.
“These are real people, who are doing a job that literally none of you could do,” she said.
“That’s what kills me. It’s like, ‘my hot take, I think they didn’t do this good enough.’ Let’s see you do it. Let’s see you do it. You couldn’t.”
Her younger sister, Rylee Arnold, is making her debut this season and is partnered with Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying.
“To actively seek out bashing and trashing on anyone on the show is just a joke, if I’m being honest,” she said.”Be better.”
In her caption, Arnold added, “Let’s be better you guys. If you absolutely HAVE to throw shade come throw it at me. I can handle it.”
