It has been a whopping five years since the last Tim and Eric project. The duo behind the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! on Adult Swim has been off doing other things in recent years.
Tim Heidecker has been seen acting in bigger movies like Us, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Him, while Eric Wareheim has been more focused on TV. Luckily for fans of the comedy duo, it sounds like the two are working on an exciting project.
According to Heidecker, the two are writing a horror film.
“We’re actually writing a horror movie that is going to be much sicker than most people are going to want to watch,” Heidecker said, per Variety.
Tim and Eric are known for their comedy chops, but their surrealist style should work well in horror. A lot of those old Tim and Eric sketches could come off as scary in the right context.
Heidecker has been gaining some experience in the world of horror. He worked with Jordan Peele on Us and Him. We’re starting to see more people with sketch comedy backgrounds get into horror, like Peele and Weapons director Zach Cregger.
Considering how much success those two have had, it would be fun to see what Tim and Eric could come up with in the world of horror.
