Taylor Swift is slipping into sequins and dripping in diamonds for what could be her most dazzling act yet, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
The singer announced her 12th album in a promo for Travis Kelce’s podcast “New Heights” at 12:12 a.m. ET on Aug. 12. The singer pulled out a blurred out album cover for her new project.
“This is my brand-new album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,'” Swift says.
Travis adds, “TS12,” while Jason is heard screaming with excitement.
Tucked on the shelf behind the couple is a jar of friendship bracelets and a new logo on an orange square with the yellow letters “T.S.”

Swifties may learn more about the album on Aug. 13, when her episode airs on YouTube at 7 p.m. ET.
Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce have been on a break from the podcast but are coming back for the “very special episode.”
In a clip released Aug. 11, Swift is seated next to Travis.
“Such a nice color on you,” says says of his light blue hoodie.
“Yes, I know. It’s the color of your eyes, sweetie,” Travis answers. “It’s why we match so well.”
“We’re about to do a f***ing podcast,” Swift says.
New era, new color
In the Swift universe, eras are numbered — and color coded.
It appears the hue for era 12 is a fiery orange.
The color showed up in a glittery background of social media posts and on Swift’s website. In a “New Heights” teaser video, what appears to be an album sits on a shelf behind Swift. It’s black with an orange outline. In front of it is an orange square with “T.S.” printed on it. In the same clip, Swift wears coral lipstick, not her usual red.
In fact, orange has been popping up since the 2024 leg of the Eras Tour. She debuted an orange bodysuit in Paris, where fans also noticed the countdown turned orange before the show’s opening sequence. At the end of the show, the “Karma” door appeared orange.
Questions remain
While Swifties may feel like they’ve endured a lifetime’s worth of suspense in the lead-up to the announcement of Swift’s 12th album, it’s really only the beginning.
Swift will keep them on their toes awaiting singles, videos, track lists and more.
She also has a Searchlight Pictures movie project, a potential Eras Tour documentary, vault tracks from her “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” album and a debut album that the singer admits is fully rerecorded, not to mention trademarks for “Taylor-Con” and “Female Rage: The Musical.”
And the clown car rolls on.
