Barbra Streisand is reflecting on her friendship with the late Robert Redford, according to a source.
A source tells Examiner the 83-year-old EGOT winner, who starred alongside Redford in the 1973 romantic drama The Way We Were, is “filled with regret she didn’t spend more time” with the actor before he passed.
“Yes, they were able to reconnect one time he was in L.A. a few years ago, but they had very little opportunity to do it again, and she feels she should have done more and made more of an effort to visit him in Utah,” the source claims.
The source notes that the Funny Girl star has “lost quite a few dear friends” over the last couple of years, including Alan Bergman in July, his wife, Marilyn Bergman, in 2022, and Stephen Sondheim in 2021.
However, while the source points out that “these are tough times” for Streisand, they also note “she’s determined to live her best life while she can and maintain the friendships she still has.”

As Examiner previously reported, on Tuesday, September 16, Redford passed away early in the morning in his sleep at his Utah home, according to The New York Times. He was 89 years old.
Following his passing, the singer-songwriter posted a heartfelt tribute to the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid star on Instagram.
“Every day on the set of The Way We Were was exciting, intense and pure joy. We were such opposites: he was from the world of horses; I was allergic to them!” Streisand captioned a black-and-white photo of her and Redford. “Yet, we kept trying to find out more about each other, just like the characters in the movie.”
“Bob was charismatic, intelligent, intense, always interesting— and one of the finest actors ever,” she added. “The last time I saw him, when he came to lunch, we discussed art and decided to send each other our first drawings.”
“He was one of a kind and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him. #RobertRedford,” she concluded her post.
