Fox News Anchor Bitterly Rails Against Jimmy Kimmel’s Return After Charlie Kirk Snafu

Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher bitterly ranted about late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s return after President Donald Trump’s administration pressured ABC to suspend him over the Charlie Kirk shooting.

The media world was shaken last Wednesday night by the news that ABC had suspended Kimmel’s show “indefinitely,” just hours after he was targeted by Brendan Carr, President Trump’s hand-picked FCC commissioner.

Kimmel was singled out for a comment he made during a monologue on last Monday’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live!:

But ABC announced this Monday that Kimmel’s show will return Tuesday night, although major affiliate owner Sinclair Broadcasting has said they will not air the show.

On Monday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Fox News at Night, Gallagher lashed out with a “Common Sense Department” commentary that tore into the suspension as amounting to “a long weekend” and the equivalent of a “parking ticket”:

TRACE GALLAGHER: Well, the Fox News and I Common Sense Department has a few thoughts on Jimmy Kimmel’s long weekend.

As you know, Kimmel is back on the air tomorrow night, which is proof positive that ABC does not mess around. No siree. After Kimmel went on the air and said, quote, “The MAGA gang was desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” America’s Broadcasting Company said it was suspending Kimmel’s show indefinitely.

And sure enough, Kimmel was out of work for three, four nights. Common Sense would suggest that is not a suspension, it’s an infraction. A parking ticket has more teeth!

At least Sinclair Broadcasting, which owns 38 ABC affiliates around the country, is still refusing to air Kimmel. But Sinclair also says it is now in talks with ABC. So how long will Sinclair’s standoff stand?

Remember, Sinclair said that Kimmel needed to issue an apology to the Kirk family and make a meaningful donation to the Kirke family as well as Turning Point USA.

Does anyone anywhere think Kimmel plans to donate or apologize? Or will he just go back on the air and proselytize, try to convert the non-haters?

Common Sense would say it’s one thing for Jimmy Kimmel to no longer be funny. It’s another to know that regardless of what Jimmy Kimmel says, America is no longer laughing.
