Julianne Hough might look like she has her life together on Dancing with the Stars. However, the truth of this matter goes much deeper than anything we’ve ever seen or heard. In fact, the road that led Julianne to her current place of peace was often rocky. But now that this Pro is in a stronger position, she is getting honest with her fans about her less-than-perfect years, which led her to where she is today.
Julianne Hough said “everything fell apart”
In a recent interview with Dhar Mann, an influencer known for positive and uplifting posts, Julianne described how DWTS changed her life. “I ended up doing the show and won my first two seasons back-to-back. It was like a ripple effect. The stars were aligned,” she said.
Then, Julianne “ended up getting a country music record deal,” which resulted in several awards and even a role in a film with Tom Cruise, she recalled. But sadly, “Everything was going, going, going, and then everything fell apart,” she explained.
First, Julianne lost her beloved dogs to coyotes in 2019. Then, her marriage “started unraveling,” which led to her divorce. As this was all happening, “My career, my friend group, everything that I had known really started taking a different shape. That was very much, like, probably the darkest time,” she recalled.
Realizing that she was living in a place of stuck, Julianne poured her “energy into self-care,” and now she is on the flip side of her formerly pressing times. Regardless, her healing “was a process and it was timing,” she explained. As she stressed, “You can’t rush healing. You can’t rush the time frame that you need to go through to learn a lesson.”
Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It streams on Hulu the next day.
