Jimmy Kimmel Live! is officially back on air — and no one is more thrilled than Guillermo Rodriguez.
The 54-year-old comedian, who has been by host Jimmy Kimmel’s side since 2003, marked the show’s return with a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, September 23. Sharing a joint update with the program’s official account, Rodriguez posted a picture of himself embracing Kimmel, 57, writing, “We are back full of love.”
Fans quickly chimed in with their excitement in the comments.
“And don’t you dare apologize! Nothing wrong was done on your end,” said one fan.
“Let’s make this the most watched show of all time ,” another declared about the comeback episode.
A third simply shared, “so glad that you’re back!”
Others, however, weren’t so thrilled about Kimmell’s return.
“You never the make fun of or mock the dead. Grow up Jimmy,” one wrote.
Another said, “Hope you apologize to Erika Kirk & the Kirk family. That was cold and cruel.”

The celebratory post came just a day after Disney confirmed that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would return following its abrupt suspension last week. The controversy began after Kimmel addressed the September 10 shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk during his September 15 monologue.
His remarks drew backlash from political figures and affiliates, with FCC chairman Brendan Carr warning of possible consequences, and Nexstar Media announcing it would preempt the program “for the foreseeable future.” Sinclair Broadcast Group also revealed it would keep running alternate programming until further notice.
Despite the drama, Hollywood rallied behind Kimmel, and with his return, Guillermo’s message of love struck a hopeful note for the show’s loyal audience and tonight’s episode.
