Leonardo DiCaprio made a slight historical revision when the Academy Award-winning star appeared on the New Heights podcast alongside Jason and Travis Kelce.
The Titanic icon, 50, declared his conversation with the film-enthusiast brothers marked his inaugural podcasting venture in Wednesday’s episode – apparently overlooking his 2020 appearance with Brad Pitt on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast discussing Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Leonardo was accompanied by his One Battle After Another co-star Benicio del Toro on the recent New Heights installment as they discussed cinema with the Kelce duo. The news emerges after Jason Kelce wastes no time responding to Travis’ controversial fashion choice.
However, one subject that remained absent from the show was Taylor Swift. Travis, who revealed his engagement to the pop sensation last month, frequently discusses his romance and shares wedding preparation updates with his brother during their weekly audio show. Travis’ bride-to-be shares a loose connection to his newest podcast guest through referencing Leonardo in her 2019 album, Lover. On one of the record’s tracks, The Man, Taylor envisions what existence would be like as a male celebrity – specifically Leonardo!, reports the Mirror.
Beginning with the opening lines “I would be complex, I would be cool,” Taylor highlights the contrasting standards for men and women, especially regarding their private lives and romantic relationships. Similar to Taylor, Leonardo has maintained numerous high-profile romances throughout his career in the spotlight, typically with younger women.
However, unlike Taylor, the Shutter Island star hasn’t faced the same sexist criticism that Taylor has endured simply because of her dating history.
In the bridge of Taylor’s 2019 track, she croons: “What’s it like to brag about drinking and dollars and getting b*tches and models? … If I was out flashing my dollars, I’d be a b*tch not a baller / They’d paint me out to be bad / So it’s okay that I’m mad.”
She then singles out one famous male celebrity as a particular example, belting out: “And they would toast to me, oh, let the players play/I’d be just like Leo in Saint Tropez.”
In the 2020 music video for The Man, Taylor morphed herself into a male persona. During the opening sequence, the masculine version of Taylor appears in an office gazing out at the urban landscape – bearing striking resemblance to scenes from one of Leonardo’s most iconic movies, The Wolf of Wall Street.
This may have been an intentional parallel since Taylor later disclosed that Rodrigo Prieto was among the collaborators she worked with on The Man music video. Rodrigo served as the director of photography for The Wolf of Wall Street.
Leonardo is presently romantically involved with 25 year old model Vittoria Ceretti and has been connected to her since 2023. The 50 year old performer has previously been romantically linked to celebrities including; Gigi Hadid, Camila Morrone, Danish model Nina Agdal, Blake Lively, Bar Rafaeli and Gisele Bündchen.
