Pop rising star Dynamyte is proving she’s a force to be reckoned with. After performing over 350 live shows and opening for heavy-hitters like Ariana Grande, Christina Perri, and Cody Simpson, the singer-drummer is stepping into her most exciting chapter yet. Her latest single, “Probably,” is the follow-up to the bold and buzzy “Checkmate,” which earned a spotlight in TMRW Magazine earlier this year. With powerhouse vocals, a retro-meets-modern sound, and the rare talent of delivering high-energy performances behind the drum kit, Dynamyte is cementing her place as one of music’s most dynamic new voices. In an exclusive conversation with The Blast, the artist opened up about the inspiration behind “Probably,” her growth as a solo performer, and how she’s using her platform to empower others as both an LGBTQ+ artist and anti-bullying advocate.

The Story Behind Dynamyte’s New Single ‘Probably’

Dynamyte’s new single might have an upbeat groove, but at its core, it’s about vulnerability and the instinct to run from real love. She revealed the song came together almost accidentally during a writing session.

“This was one of the last songs written on this album, a few months before meeting my girlfriend,” Dynamyte explained. “During the session, one of my co-writers asked, ‘What would you do if the love of your life walked in right now?’ Without thinking, I said, ‘I’d probably run.’ That one line became the backbone of the whole song.”

For the artist, the word “probably” sums up a universal contradiction of wanting connection but fearing the risk that comes with it. “‘You’re probably the one, so I’m probably gonna run’ is both funny and heartbreaking,” she tole The Blast. “It captures that contradiction perfectly.”

Bringing Drums To The Spotlight

Unlike many pop singers, Dynamyte puts her drumming skills front and center. The music video for “Probably” highlights this side of her artistry with a raw, performance-driven visual. “Drumming has always been at the core of who I am as an artist,” she said. “I grew up singing and drumming together, so it’s my home base. Showing that side of me felt important because it’s such a huge part of my identity.”

The decision sets her apart in a crowded industry, bridging her rhythmic intensity with her soulful vocals in a way that few performers can match.

Dynamyte’s Growth As A Solo Performer

With over a decade in music, Dynamyte has transitioned from performing in a duo to standing on stage as a solo artist. That change, she admits, wasn’t always easy.

“The biggest change has been moving from a duo to being a solo artist. For the first decade of my career, I was half of the spotlight, which felt comfortable,” she reflected. “Having full creative control, and being the only focus on stage, took some adjusting, but it’s also been so empowering.”

Her live experience is undeniable, having already played more than 350 shows. Still, one memory stands out above the rest, and that’s opening for Ariana Grande at her very first arena concert. “I always wondered how artists manage to reach everyone in a space that big, but once I was up there, it actually felt surprisingly small and intimate,” she recalled. “You really can see everyone!”

Mentorship And Musical Inspiration

Over the years, Dynamyte has shared the stage with some major names, but one childhood encounter with Lily Allen left a lasting mark. “When I was about 11 or 12, I met Lily Allen, who was my absolute hero,” Dynamyte recalled. “She brought me on stage to sing ‘Smile’ with her and then spent so much time hanging out with my brother and me after the show.”

She continued, “Having someone I idolized treat me with that much warmth and respect at such a young age is something I’ll never forget. It was the best night of my life.”

Now, with her own rising platform, she hopes to inspire others in the same way, citing RAYE as her dream collaboration. “I admire everything she’s doing right now,” the artist said. “Both as an artist and as a songwriter.”

Dynamyte Is Looking Ahead To Her Future

With “Probably” marking her second single in this new era, Dynamyte is setting the stage for her debut album, slated for early 2026. Each release peels back another layer of her artistry, from playful grooves to deeper, soul-stirring cuts.

As she continues to balance musicianship, advocacy, and her unique identity as both a singer and drummer, Dynamyte is carving out her own lane in pop. And if her trajectory so far is any indication, her next move won’t just be powerful, but it’ll be unforgettable.
