During an emotional remembrance of her late husband Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk expressed forgiveness for his killer, urging people to turn to their faith — and Tim Allen took her words to heart.
“When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: “That man… that young man… I forgive him.” That moment deeply affected me,” the Home Improvement alum, 72, wrote on X on Thursday, September 25.
“I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad,” continued the actor, whose father was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver when he was 11. “I will say those words now as I type: ‘I forgive the man who killed my father.”
“Peace be with you all,” he added.
Allen previously discussed his devastating loss on a 2006 episode of Inside the Actors Studio.
“If you haven’t had a death in your family, it changes every single thing … your cells and DNA turns a different color,” the Toy Story actor said. “Every single thing in my life changed.”

Kirk spoke at her husband’s memorial at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, September 21.
“I forgive him because it was what Christ did and is what Charlie would do,” she told the crowd of tens of thousands, referring to Tyler Robinson, who has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the Turning Point USA founder’s assassination.
“The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love,” the mother of two, 36, continued. “Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”
