As one might expect, attending the same concert as Paul McCartney is an experience unto itself, forming the backbone to an unforgettable night of memories to last a lifetime.
As he remembered it, such was certainly the case for the concert Leonardo DiCaprio attended with the legendary Beatles co-founder, with DiCaprio telling NME all about the “special night” he had with the 83-year-old McCartney.
According to his interview with NME, DiCaprio was in attendance for Oasis’ return concert in Los Angeles on September 6. In addition to the Oscar-winning actor, numerous other celebrities crowded into LA’s Rose Bowl Stadium to see the band performer, including Billie Eilish and Paul McCartney.
“It was incredible. It was incredible to see them back together again” DiCaprio said of the British pop band’s reunion on-stage.
As fantastic as the band’s performance was, one moment in particular seemed to stick in the Titanic star’s memory, with DiCaprio mentioning that Oasis managed to play a Beatles song seemingly in homage to McCartney.
“Paul McCartney was actually there and I think they sang a Beatles song,” DiCaprio said. “I remember I was in the section next to him and the whole sort of stadium looked back at Paul and clapped for Paul too which was which was awesome. It was a great tip of the hat. So, it was a special night.”
In addition to his glowing appraisal of Oasis’ concert, DiCaprio and his One Battle After Another co-star Benicio del Toro also voiced their excitement at Radiohead’s upcoming tour (their first concert series in seven years).
“How could you not be a Radiohead fan?” asked DiCaprio. “What they’ve contributed to music, man, it’s incredible.”
DiCaprio’s latest movie, One Battle After Another, opened at nationwide theaters this past Thursday. Co-starring del Toro, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti, it’s received widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike.
