If you’ve been Keeping Up With the Kardashians, you’re well aware that Rob Kardashian is the only sibling in the famous family who has actively stepped away from the spotlight for nearly a decade.
While Rob, 38, occasionally pops up on social media — mostly to share pictures of his 8-year-old daughter, Dream, whom he shares with ex Blac Chyna — the reclusive former reality star has purposely avoided appearing on the small screen, no matter how much hype The Kardashians is getting. (To note, Rob appeared on multiple seasons of the family’s first show, KUWTK, but has only made the rarest and most brief appearances on The Kardashians.)
But now, Kim is not-so-subtly teasing a return to the spotlight for Rob.
In a new interview with Elle, the Skims founder hinted, “I think this season,” Kim teased, “I think people would love to see my brother back on TV.”
“And he comes back,” she confirmed, before adding, “Am I allowed to say that? Well, I did, sorry!”
The idea of Rob making his comeback to reality TV immediately sent fans into a frenzy.
“OMG Rob!!!” one person commented on the Instagram clip.
“Yes, bring back Rob, please! 🙏🏻,” another fan pleaded.
“We miss Rob ❤️❤️,” chimed in a third follower.
Why Did Rob Kardashian Leave Reality TV in the First Place?
In addition to KUWTK and The Kardashians — as well as the franchise’s many spinoffs — fans also remember Rob’s own short-lived reality stint on Rob & Chyna, which aired for just one season in 2016.
In a rare interview with sister Khloé Kardashian on her “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast, Rob revealed that the reason he left reality TV behind was due to his feeling of discomfort within himself.
“It just has everything to do with myself. I don’t wanna be filming and putting myself in a position where I’m not comfortable,” he told Khloé earlier this year. “I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I want to go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in when that’s not what I want to do?”
Instead, Rob said, he chose to focus on his “own happiness and peace than filimg for somebody that doesn’t do anything for me and my personal life.”
Still, he added: “I love filming if it’s positive and natural and I’m feeling good about myself. I like being around my family, so that stuff is good to me. I have nothing against [filming], it’s just the reason I don’t is because I’m a homebody and I just choose, like I said, my happiness and peace.”
Well, it looks like Rob may have found the perfect balance — if Kim’s admission about her brother coming back to the show is true.
