Former Real Housewives of New York City star and ABC News journalist Carol Radziwill isn’t hesitating to share her thoughts about her in-law, Robert F Kennedy Jr, even as other famous relatives show him support.
Radziwill was married to Anthony Radziwill from 1994 until his death in 1999. Anthony was the son of Lee Radziwill, the sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, making the future reality star and the current Health and Human Services secretary relatives during that time.
And as Kennedy fields brazen questions about his policies and beliefs since taking on his role in the Trump administration, he has also faced backlash from his family members.
This includes Radziwill, who slammed him in a recent episode of the On with Kara Swisher podcast.
Speaking on the podcast, she admitted she was once close to Kennedy, but that has since changed, and she shared a nine-word takedown of his current ideologies.
“I just can’t reconcile who it is I thought I knew with this person who has appeared on the scene,” she said. “He’s undermining everything that the Kennedy family stood for, everything on every level.”
Radziwill admitted that she knew him well and had spent plenty of time with him since her husband’s death in 1999, though she lost touch with him after the death of his second wife, Mary Richardson, in 2012.
She also confirmed that in addition to being disappointed by his politics now, he was always “weird” about things like death, specifically when it came to animals and roadkill.
“He had that weird thing about roadkill, always,” she said. “He would pick it up from the road all the time and leave it in his minivan, and sometimes he’d forget.”

“There’s be like a skunk under the seat. His minivan always smelled of death.”
Though Radziwill doesn’t have positive things to share about Kennedy now, he had received a vigorous defense from actor Chris Pratt, who is married to his cousin Maria Shriver’s daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
“In politics, you inherit enemies, and whan you jump on the bandwagon with, you know, who’s the most divisive president ever, it makes sense that you’re going to be made to look terrible,” he said on an episode of the Club Random podcast.
“There’s certain things that he oversees that seem to be supported in a bipartisan way, like getting terrible, toxic stuff out of our kids’ food. I think that’s a great thing. And so if you just do that, that’s amazing.”
