Hitmaker Selena Gomez’s big wedding weekend kicked off in style with a glamorous rehearsal dinner at a country mansion in Goleta’s tony Hope Ranch neighborhood, which is a vast 1,863-acre estate in the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains.
The Friday night festivities saw guests, including Gomez’s bestie Taylor Swift, who was seen sweeping in with a convoy of three SUVs, descend on the 10-bedroom property after being chauffeured in a fleet of Mercedes buses.
The stunning home, which sits on a seven-acre lot and was built in the 1930s, is owned by insurance boss Greg Econn, according to records. Gomez, 33, will say “I do” to music producer Benny Blanco, 37, in a ceremony at the romantic Sea Crest Nursery, a 70-acre private plantation in Goleta dotted with palm trees and cycads.
The property also sits on a clifftop bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. On Friday, contractors were seen setting up a series of marquees. Photos taken by the Daily Mail show tubs of decorative blooms already arranged around the tents with strings of fairy lights added.
Security has been tightened, with Gomez thought to be spending $300,000 to keep her nuptials safe. Among the guests is Taylor Swift, who arrived alone from Kansas City earlier Friday.
Before the rehearsal dinner, Martin, 80, Short, 75, and Paul Rudd, 56, were seen mingling at the El Encanto hotel.
Gomez and Blanco announced their engagement in December with an Instagram post captioned, “Forever begins now.”
The marriage marks a new chapter for Gomez, whose past relationships included Justin Bieber. Speaking about the relationship in 2020, she said, “I’m not being disrespectful. I do feel I was a victim to certain [emotional] abuse.”
Gomez and Blanco first met as teens but only became close after collaborating on “I Can’t Get Enough” in 2019. Their friendship turned romantic following their 2023 hit “Single Soon.” In December that year, Gomez called Blanco the “best thing that’s ever happened to me. The end.”
The pair made their red-carpet debut at the 2023 Emmy Awards. In February, Blanco told Zane Lowe, “I’d have to say overall it’s the safest that I feel and it’s been really lovely and I’ve only grown through it, so it’s awesome.”
