This weekend, it was reported that wedding festivities for Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco kicked off in California. Photos of some of her guests were shared by the Daily Mail as they arrived at the hotel, including shots of her Only Murders in the Building co-stars, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Paul Rudd.
But their other co-star, Meryl Streep, was not seen at the event, despite her rumored relationship with Short. On September 27, Vogue shared the video of Streep at Milan Fashion Week, dressed in character as Miranda Priestly, from The Devil Wears Prada. She was joined by Stanley Tucci at the Dolce & Gabbana show, also dressed as his character from the film, Nigel. The two are filming the sequel, which additionally stars Anne Hathaway and Simone Ashley.
According to a source speaking to the Daily Mail, Streep was “planning to attend but told Selena she now won’t be able to.”
A source told Us Weekly that Gomez’s longtime friend Taylor Swift and Paris Hilton would be at the big event.
“It will be a huge, A-list, star-studded wedding planned by Mindy Weiss,” the insider said. Gomez and Blanco made every effort to keep details of the event secret up until the day.
“Guests still do not know exact locations for the rehearsal or the wedding,” the insider added, explaining that shuttle buses would pick them up at the hotel for other venues. TMZ has reported that over 170 guests are expected to attend the weekend of events, including the ceremony and reception.
