“Scrubs” fans, rejoice.

The series revival is in production.

Original cast members just assembled for a read-through of the script.

“A new chapter begins,” Zach Braff said, sharing a photo of the group from the table read.

The actor, who grew up in South Orange, joined series creator Bill Lawrence and co-stars Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and Short Hills’ John C. McGinley at the read-through.

Braff was the first cast member to sign on for the revival, which is bound for ABC.

He returns as John “J.D.” Dorian, a role he started playing in 2001 when “Scrubs” premiered on NBC. The show later moved to ABC, where it ended in 2010.

ABC greenlit the revival show in July with a straight-to-series order for the 2025-2026 season.

By that time, Faison had returned to play J.D.’s colleague and friend Christopher Turk, and Chalke had returned to play Elliot Reid, a fellow doctor and J.D.’s partner in life. All three actors are producers on the revival series.

Judy Reyes later signed on to reprise her role as head nurse Carla Espinosa, and John C. McGinley returned as as Perry Cox, who was chief of medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital and a professor.

Creator Bill Lawrence is an executive producer of the “Scrubs” revival, while Aseem Batra and Tim Hobert, who were writers on the original show, are serving as showrunners.

With the series now in production, Braff and Faison have paused their “Scrubs” rewatch podcast “Fake Doctors, Real Friends, with Zach and Donald,” which they launched in 2020.

The actors, friends both on the show and off the show, have continued to work together over the years.

The duo starred in several Super Bowl commercials for T-Mobile home internet, singing to the melody of “I Feel Pretty” from “West Side Story“ in 2022, then ”Grease” with John Travolta in 2023 and “Flashdance” with Jason Momoa in 2024.
