Turk Sues Promoters After Being Booted From Cash Money Anniversary Tour

Hot Boys rapper Turk is suing tour promoters after being abruptly removed from the Cash Money Millionaires’ 30th Anniversary Tour, claiming he’s still owed more than $300,000 from his contract.

According to legal documents seen by Complex, Turk filed suit in Broward County, Florida, against Artists By Artists Agency LLC (ABA) and Dope Shows Inc. for breach of contract, unauthorized use of his name and likeness, and other claims.

Turk says he signed a $400,000 deal to appear on the tour, but was cut from the lineup in July after refusing to accept a pay reduction. He insists the promoters still owe him $340,000.

The rapper says he later received a letter stating his contract was terminated due to “security concerns” stemming from his long-standing feud with fellow Hot Boys member B.G. Turk; however, he argues that the reasoning was a pretext, pointing out that B.G. himself remained on the tour — because, the suit alleges, he took the pay cut. Turk also claims the promoters knowingly used his beef with B.G. to drum up interest and sell tickets.

While Hot Boys frontman Juvenile previously said he had no complaints about his own compensation on the tour, Turk says his experience was the opposite. He also accuses ABA of being complicit in Dope Shows’ alleged effort to deny him payment.

Turk is asking the court to order both companies to pay the $340,000 he says is outstanding, along with additional damages for using his name and likeness to promote the shows, even after he was booted from the tour.

Representatives for Dope Shows and ABA have not yet commented.
