RIPON – Rising Phoenix is set to perform at the Horicon Bank Ripon Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, according to a community announcement.
The band is known for its energetic performances, featuring hits from the ’70s and ’80s by artists like Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi and Van Halen.
“Our setlist is packed with nothing but hit songs,” lead vocalist Matt Berndt said in the announcement. “The resurgence of ’80s rock in pop culture, particularly through shows like Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things,’ has only added to the genre’s popularity. There’s a renewed interest in this music, and it’s thrilling to see how it’s captivating a new generation. The energy and spirit of ’80s rock is stronger than ever, and it’s something that we excel at.”
The concert will take place at the Village Green, at the corner of Watson and Seward streets in downtown Ripon. Attendees are encouraged to take lawn chairs or blankets for seating, but carry-ins are not permitted. Beverage sales help offset entertainment expenses and fund downtown beautification projects, according to the announcement.
The event also offers an opportunity to explore the shopping and dining options in Ripon’s historic district.
