“It features a stunning marquise cut diamond, which I’d estimate to be around 8 carats, set on a yellow gold pavé band. The marquise cut elongates the finger and catches the eye, dating back to the 18th century when King Louis XV of France commissioned a diamond shape that resembled the smile of his mistress, the Marquise de Pompadour.”
This type of cut has seen a rise in popularity, according to Taylor, and she believes Selena played a big part in that.
