Former Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval channeled his inner Eddie Vedder during a recent concert performance on his cover band’s East of Highland Tour.

In September 2025, the 43-year-old Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras frontman swung from the rafters and climbed up onto stage scaffolding while performing the Pearl Jam classic “Even Flow,” as seen in an Instagram video from the show.

On social media, commenters were more impressed by the shirtless Sandoval’s arm and ab strength than his vocals.

“I wish I would have not seen this lol No one can compare to Eddie Vedder. He wishes…,” one commenter wrote.

“I want to see Eddie’s reaction to this 😄,” added another.

“Oh lord. I speak for Eddie and the rest of us who grew up in the grunge gen – collectively- NO. JUST NO,” another wrote.

While Sandoval’s stage swinging was a clear tribute to Vedder, it wasn’t quite as death-defying as the Pearl Jam rocker’s wild stage antics from the 1990s. Back in the day, Vedder was known for climbing stage scaffolding, swinging from high ceiling rafters, and stage-diving from camera cranes.

One of Vedder’s most iconic stage moments took place during Pearl Jam’s “Drop in the Park” concert on Sept. 20, 1992. During the free show held at Seattle’s Magnuson Park, Vedder scaled the scaffolding and swung from the rafters to retrieve his microphone. An iconic photo of him hanging high above the crowd was taken by photographer Lance Mercer, per PMA Magazine.

Vedder, 60, talked about his wild stunts during Pearl Jam’s early days in a 2020 interview on Sirius XM’s Howard Stern Show. After Stern asked the rocker if he ever worried about “being paralyzed” while performing the dangerous stunts, such as stage diving, Vedder admitted he was fearless at the time.

“We were 24, 25,” he said of him and his Pearl Jam bandmates. “The music was powerful. I don’t think I ever did any of those crazy, evil, shenanigans except for during one song, which was called ‘Porch.’  And the whole thing with that song was celebrating we are alive for one time. Anything could happen at any moment. The ice cream truck could hit you tomorrow. That was the whole idea of it. So much of our music is just let’s live in the moment. So that was my version of expressing the meaning of the song.”

“It’s amazing that it really did work out pretty much every time,” Vedder added.
