Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another features one of the great movie car chases in recent memory, a hilly desert fight for your life with multiple cars in pursuit.
The film put a road in California at the center of its thrilling climactic chase scene, one with dramatic dips that add to the tension of the moment.
Where is this road located, you might ask? Well, you’ll have to go out to California to Borrego Springs and ride the Texas Dip that goes through San Felipe Wash.

“The Texas Dip, which is in Borrego Springs, is this huge dip down and back up, and that just seemed like the way to punctuate this moment,” production designer Florencia Martin told Variety about picking this locale. “We call it the river of hills, that highway.”
