Mira Sorvino took a wild walk down memory lane and reminisced about the time that Charlie Sheen once got down on one knee — well, not exactly.
The Mighty Aphrodite alum, 58, told Page Six recently that the Two and a Half Men actor, 60, had asked “[her] to marry [him] in the car” while he was abusing drugs at the time.
“When I said, ‘Not like this,’ because he was high on crack, he said, ‘OK, can I light up then?’ He had a crack pipe in the car, and I was like, ‘No,’” she recalled.
She then noted how she implored Sheen to seek help for his substance issues and followed him around as he “disappear[ed] into rooms with people for two hours at a time.”
Despite the non-engagement, Sorvino still has love for the Scary Movie 3 star. “He was very beloved to me,” Sorvino said. “We had worked together before. Our fathers were dear friends.
The Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion starlet’s father was acclaimed actor Paul Sorvino, who died in 2022, while Sheen’s dad is Apocalypse Now icon Martin Sheen.
As Star previously reported, the Spin City alum included an anecdote about Sorvino in his new memoir The Book of Sheen, in which he claimed that she offered to spend a night with him if he turned himself in to law enforcement after he violated his probation in 1998.
While “on the lam” following a near-fatal cocaine overdose, he headed over to Guns N’ Roses artist Slash’s home where he ran into Sorvino.
Slash, 60, begged him to go to rehab, while Sorvino, according to Sheen, told him: “I will sleep with you — if you just promise to get yourself to court this morning.”
In the same chat with Page Six, Sorvino set the record straight, explaining: “I don’t think it actually went down like that. I would beg to differ.”
