Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA) annual ‘y-ART’ sale
This is billed as “a unique blend of art and yard sale featuring original artwork, jewelry, prints, photographs, memorabilia, and more — offered at deeply discounted prices.” It is sponsored by Revival – Brick City Market, Ocala’s newest pop-up business, and benefits the local arts community.

Patriotic Skies

Gentle Carousel’s Reading With Horses at the Marion Theatre
These free literacy events (this year’s theme: Jobs With Horses) include guest speakers, a new book and different equine friends. “Individual Gentle Carousel therapy horses are featured in many books by different authors and publishers,” organizers say. “After children read a book, the ACTUAL character from the story will visit the theater to ‘bring the book to life.’ ”

Marion Theatre Summer Kids Film Series
The series runs June 4-July 25, with movies screened every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10 and 11 a.m. and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are $5 for adults and children. A summer snack pack is included for kids 12 and younger. Movies include “The Jungle Book,” “The Land Before Time” and “Brave.” Guests are encouraged to donate a new or gently used book to support the Early Learning Coalition. ‘What If Eye: Fifty Years of Exploration with Ummarid Eitharong’
The Appleton Museum of Art presents this major retrospective of the work of Ummarid ‘Tony’ Eitharong through Aug. 3 in the first-floor Edith-Marie Gallery. “Through more than 50 works, visitors can experience his artistic evolution that has resulted in three distinct bodies of work,” organizers say.
