Prince William reaction to Meghan Markle’s pregnancy news might shock some royal fans.
Since stepping away from Royal duties in 2020, Prince Harry has shared numerous revelations about the British Royal Family through Netflix and his tell-all memoir Spare. While many of these disclosures were perceived as harmful to the monarchy and created significant tensions between the duke and his family members, some were genuinely touching.
One of these more pleasant revelations involved Harry’s account of informing his brother, Prince William, 43, with whom he no longer speaks, that he was expecting his first child.
In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex, 41, detailed how his older brother responded to the news of he and Meghan were expecting their first child, now known as Prince Archie.
The duke revealed that he chose to share the news with William at their cousin Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018.
“She was across the room, talking to Pippa. I said we could do it later, but he insisted. So we went and told Kate and she also gave a big smile and hearty congratulations. They both reacted exactly as I’d hoped.”
Reflecting on this moment in his memoir must have been a mixed bag for Prince Harry, who is currently not on speaking terms with his older brother.
The brothers’ relationship reportedly soured before Harry stepped back from Royal duties. The tension escalated after Harry and Meghan’s explosive 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they made some serious accusations about the Royal Family.
The release of Harry and Meghan’s 2022 Netflix docuseries, followed by Harry’s memoir, is thought to have been the last straw for William.
