Riding high on the success of his film One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, Leonardo DiCaprio named his favorite Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, and Stanley Kubrick films at the premiere event. While answering questions, the actor had to abide by one condition: he couldn’t name his films.
First, DiCaprio named his favourite Steven Spielberg film. Obviously, he couldn’t say Catch Me If You Can, but the choice was one anyone could expect. He said, “Maybe Jaws. He’s done so many masterpieces. It’s hard to pick, right? God, yeah, I’d say Jaws.” (via Collider)

Next, when asked to pick his favourite Nolan film excluding Inception, DiCaprio answered The Dark Knight.
For the Kubrick film, DiCaprio was torn between several films like A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, and more. But he finally decided on 2001: A Space Odyssey. He said, “There are too many to pick. But 2001, for me, I remember watching it for the first time on VHS, but then I got to see it at the Cinerama Dome. Talk about a movie that was so ahead of its time. It’s just incredible. Beyond the movie, it’s kind of a spiritual experience.”
Well, there’s no denying that we don’t fully agree with these picks, but each unpicked is also a classic in its own right.
One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti, Wood Harris, and more, is running in theaters near you.
