Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban yesterday after 19 years of marriage. Shortly after, their court documents, filed in Davidson County, Tennessee, became public. The filings show that while news of their split just broke, Kidman and Urban privately worked out child custody and property division this summer.
Kidman and Urban have two daughters, 17-year-old Sunday Rose, who will turn 18 next July, and 14-year-old Faith Margaret, who turns 15 in December. The family will remain based in Nashville, with Kidman and Urban maintaining separate homes.

What reason did Kidman give for their divorce and what is their date of separation?
Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for divorce and listed their date of separation as her filing date, September 30.
She signed the divorce papers on September 29—the same day news of their separation broke.
Have they worked out a child agreement?
Yes. Kidman included the detailed parenting plan in her filing. The former couple finalized the agreement weeks ago, with Urban signing on August 29, and Kidman on September 6, both in front of notaries.
At the start of the document, Kidman and Urban agreed they would “behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent, and nurturing relationship with each child even though they are divorced. They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent. They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.”
Kidman will serve as the primary residential parent of their minor children, though they remain joint custodians of them.
Sunday and Faith will spend 306 days with their mother and 59 days with their dad. They will spend their weeks with their mother and every other weekend with Urban. Holidays were mostly divided, with parents alternating custody each year.
Major decisions for their daughters will be made jointly, although Kidman has “final decision-making authority” if they cannot agree.
Did Kidman request child or spousal support?
No. Their parenting agreement lists each of their monthly income as $100,000 and states that Urban “has already prepaid all child support obligations owed to [Kidman].”
In her filing, Kidman also wrote neither party should receive alimony or spousal support.
