Ozzy Osbourne was living life to the fullest until the very end.

A little more than two months after the Black Sabbath singer died July 22 at the age of 76, a trailer for Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home reveals the final years of the rock star’s life with wife Sharon Osbourne, and how they felt about their family, which included kids Aimee Osbourne, 42, Kelly Osbourne, 40, and Jack Osbourne, 39.

In the trailer, released Oct. 1, Sharon insists their family life is normal, to which Ozzy jokingly replies in his own confessional, “I wouldn’t say we’re f–king normal.”

Later in the trailer, Ozzy’s wife of 43 years asks him if he wants a “quiet life” and he says, “No, yes. But no.”

However, the upcoming documentary, set to release Oct. 2, also gives a glimpse at Ozzy and Sharon’s mundane life together.

“He’s very romantic,” Sharon admits elsewhere in the clips. “He still leaves me little notes. I’ll open a drawer and there’s a little note from him.”

Later, Kelly also shares what it is like for them to see her parents somewhat slow down.

“You can’t be him without people staring—he’s Ozzy Osbourne,” she explained, later adding of both her parents, “I don’t think it’s possible for either one of them to retire, ever.”

And because the documentary centers around Ozzy—also dad to Jessica Osbourne, Louis Osbourne and Elliot Osbourne with ex Thelma Riley—and Sharon returning to their native England, the “Crazy Train” singer also shared how he feels to have left Los Angeles.

“I feel like I’m finally home,” he admits in another confessional. “This is my home.”

Sharon then asks her husband what he’s looking forward to about being home in Birmingham, he jokes, “Doing absolutely nothing.”

The upcoming BBC documentary was originally set to premiere Aug. 18, but was abruptly pulled from the broadcast schedule out of respect for the Osbourne family.

“It was an incredible privilege to spend the last few years with Ozzy, as well as Sharon, Jack and Kelly,” the project’s producers, Ben Wicks and Colin Barr, said in a statement shortly after Ozzy’s death. “Ozzy wanted to make it back to the U.K. and appear on stage one last time—our film is an inspiring and poignant account of him fulfilling that dream.”

Ozzy, born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England, in 1948, struggled with school early on. It was his passion for music that ultimately helped him move forward.

“I left school with a little more education than when I first started going,” he told The Associated Press in 2010. “Because of my dyslexia, I couldn’t learn. So, I was teased a lot by one of my sister about not bing able to read. It’s very shameful.”

“If it wasn’t for The Beatles turning me onto music in a big way, I don’t know what I would have done,” he continued. “Music has been the main thing that got me out of the area, the place I was born.”

In 1968, he and his friends formed Black Sabbath, inspired by the film of the same name, with their self-titled debut album earning major commercial success. In 1971, he married his first wife Thelma Riley, with whom he shared kids Jessica Osbourne, Louis Osbourne and Elliot Kingsley.

Ozzy was happy to sink his teeth into a macabre photo shoot. He was fired from Black Sabbath the year before due to his struggles with alcohol and drug abuse.

“Money would be the alcohol and the drugs and I behaved badly,” he said in his documentary Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne of that time. “That was one of the lowest points of my life.”

1982

Ozzy—as a solo artist—took the stage at Madison Square Garden for his Diary of a Madman tour, just two days after he infamously bit into a dead bat that was thrown onto the stage, which he believed was fake.

“I just thought it was a rubber bat,” Ozzy said in the documentary, “and I just put it in my mouth and crunched down. I just f–king bit into it, you know, being the f–king clown that I am [and was like], ‘Oh no! It’s real.'”

Later that year, he married his manager, Sharon Arden.
