The Royals may not have led the league in power, but they still gave fans some fireworks in 2025. Whether it was a rookie’s first big-league blast, a dramatic go-ahead shot, or a towering bomb, these were the home runs that defined the season.

June 19 – Jac’s first blasts

Jac Caglianone was going viral with tape measure shots in the minors, so Royals fans were excited when he was called up to the big leagues in early June. It took two weeks, but he finally hit his first MLB home run in Texas, hitting an eye-level pitch for a line drive home run.

Not content to have just one home run, Caglianone homered again in the ninth.

His nice, easy swing produced a 439-foot blast. He became the fourth player in club history to hit his first two career homers in the same game, a feat that John Rave and Carter Jensen would both accomplish later in the season.

July 26 – Jonathan India three-run walk-off against Cleveland

It was a difficult season for newcomer Jonathan India, but he had a few highlights this year. One came in a July game against the division rival Guardians, with both teams trying to get back to .500. The Guardians took a tenth-inning lead in the first game of a doubleheader and brought in All-Star closer Emmanuel Clase to shut the door. He walked John Rave, and after pinch-runner Tyler Tolbert was picked off, Luke Maile had a terrific plate appearance to coax another walk.

That brought up India, and he took out his frustrations on a slow start in one swing, putting the ball over the fence for a three-run walk-off home run to win it.

August 19 – Bobby Witt hits his 100th career home run

There will be many career milestones that Bobby Witt Jr. will reach throughout his career, but he’s already starting to reach some impressive ones. In August, he became the youngest player in club history to reach 100 career home runs. He was also the fourth player in MLB history to hit 100 home runs and steal 100 bases in his first four seasons, joining Bobby Bonds, Darryl Strawberry, and Julio Rodríguez

Personal accomplishments are great, but this home run came while the Royals were still battling the Texas Rangers for a Wild Card spot. The home run extended the Royals’ lead and helped them secure a critical win in the heat of a pennant race.

August 30 – Bobby’s blast against Detroit

The Royals were just a few games back of a Wild Card spot when the first-place Tigers came to town in late August. Detroit took the first game, and the second game was tied 1-1 in the eighth when Bobby put the team on his back like an MVP does. He slammed a two-run home run to give the good guys the lead for good, giving them a much-needed win.

The win put them four games over .500, tying for the most games over .500 they would reach in the second half.

September 13 – Salvy hits career home run #300

Salvy’s power shows no sign of slowing down. He became the second-oldest catcher to enjoy a 30-home run season, and he became just the seventh catcher in MLB history to have multiple 30 HR 100 RBI seasons.

On September 13 in Philadelphia, he reached two career milestones with one swing of the bat, hitting his 300th career home run and reaching 1,000 RBI.

He became just the eighth catcher in MLB history to reach the 300 home run mark in his career, joining Mike Piazza, Johnny Bench, Carlton Fisk, Yogi Berra, Gary Carter, Lance Parrish, and Ivan Rodriguez.

September 28 – Carter Jensen hits a mammoth blast

Top prospect Carter Jensen was called up in September and showed no signs of struggle against big league pitching. He hit .300/.391/.550 in 20 games, including three home runs. But his home run on the final day of the season was a mammoth blast that left the stadium.

The 482-foot moonblast in Sacramento was the longest home run hit by any Royals hitter this season. That kind of pop gives Royals fans hope that more offense is coming next season.
