The competition is heating up on Dancing with the Stars! So much so that Robert Irwin had to rip off his shirt during the salsa performance with partner Witney Carson. The fans were rightfully in awe, but now Witney thinks it may not have been the wisest move for Robert to showcase his abs, as she needs him focused on winning the prize.
Witney and Robert have been doing great so far. Fans are loving their fun banter and off-stage fun and they’ve coupled this with excellent performances. However, it’s still just the beginning, and Witney needs Robert 100% focused on taking home the mirrorball trophy.

That’s why she thinks that the abs flash may not have been the best choice during their Million Dollar Baby performance. While the fans and even judge Carrie Ann Inaba were stunned, the fallout was that fans began messaging the conservationist in droves.
“I had so many moments of regret,” Witney told Entertainment Tonight. “Did I make the right choice taking his shirt off?” Now, she’s asking the fans to take it down a notch.
“Girls, let’s take it down a little,” she joked. “I can only take so much!” She and Robert even posted a TikTok poking fun at the interest he has received. In the video, she is looking at Robert’s phone with the caption, “Coming in hot to check Robert’s DMs.”
Women are even flooding her inbox. Witney pitched a solution, “Robert for The Bachelor? Idk, this is too stressful for me to handle.” Witney reminded everyone that they are currently dancing for their lives and can’t really respond right now.
So for now, Witney’s put DM’s on hold. She and Robert’s older sister, for champion Bindi Irwin, will revisit them at a later date. She just needs Robert to stay focused on the competition and not on finding a date.
He said that the attention was very flattering and made him “very red and very awkward.” But he’s also having fun and doing his best to showcase a new side of himself while staying true to his fun and charismatic personality. If he continues to do that, he and Witney should be just fine!
Dancing with the Stars Season 34 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
