New details are emerging about the death of famed primatologist Jane Goodall, who died at the age of 91 on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The renowned conservationist and anthropologist, whose groundbreaking research helped the world better understand chimpanzees, was on her last speaking tour when she died of natural causes in Los Angeles. Now, talent manager Guy Oseary is sharing new insight into the peaceful way Goodall died.
In a post shared to Instagram, the well-known Hollywood heavyweight shared a photo of himself with Goodall taken in April alongside a beautifully written caption about Goodall’s passing.
He wrote, “The beloved and extraordinary Jane Goodall @janegoodallinst left us this morning, peacefully, in my home surrounded by trees, with birds weaving music into the wind.
Her last birthday, her 91st on April 3rd of this year, was also spent here with us.
This photo was taken that evening, she was the last one standing, full of unmatched energy and joy and with a glass of her favorite whisky.
Even into her nineties, she traveled the world nearly 300 days a year, sharing her wisdom and hope.
That night, when asked if she might slow down now that she was in her 90s, she smiled and said the opposite was true—with less time ahead, she felt an even greater urgency to work harder and do all she could.
Jane revolutionized our understanding of chimpanzees, revealing their intelligence, emotions, and social complexity, and in doing so reshaped how we see our own place in the natural world. Through her tireless conservation work and the Jane Goodall Institute, she inspired generations to protect animals, the environment, and our shared future.
Jane, you inspired the world. We will miss you deeply.
My condolences go out to her family and to all who carry forward the mission of the Jane Goodall Institute. Please join my family in honoring her legacy with a donation to support the work she devoted her life to. 🙏🏽
