TOPEKA (KSNT) — Taylor Swift fans in Topeka are celebrating her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” with listening parties and a movie.
Fans gathered at Evergy Plaza for a big listening party, and B&B Theaters in southwest Topeka are showing “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” a movie for the album, featuring Swift’s new music video and behind-the-scenes footage of her songwriting process.
Fans note that this album is more upbeat than Swift’s last album, speculating that it has to do with her recent engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
“As a K.C. Chiefs fan for actually longer than a Taylor fan, This has been like my dream come true,” Kaylynne Shankland said. “So it’s really fun and it’s just fun. They seem so happy. I love that for her. She’s been through a lot. And when you grow up with somebody like that, it’s just kind of fun to see her finally find somebody and it relates back to my own world. So, it makes it great for me.”
Evergy Plaza’s listening party lasted until 9 p.m., and B & B Theaters will show the movie all weekend.
