Al Roker Gives Olivia Dean an Unexpected ‘New Job’ on the ‘Today’ Show

Al Roker just gave rising singer Olivia Dean an unexpected career twist after she appeared as a guest on the Today Show’s recent broadcast.

While she is known for her hit song “Man I Need,” the British singer proved that she is open to playful surprises and new opportunities beyond music.

On Friday, the 26-year-old not only serenaded everyone with her soulful voice and her feel-good songs but also delighted everyone, especially the show’s resident weatherman, with her infectious charm.

In one segment, Dean joked that she had her eye on Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer’s roles on the show, especially the part where they give viewers their weather updates.

Of course, this caught the attention of the award-winning weather presenter who offered her the chance to try delivering the forecast herself.

“One of the things you mentioned earlier, when I was doing weather when we were outside, you wanted to do the weather,” he said.

Dean responded with an enthusiastic reaction , noting, “I would like to do the weather.”

Roker happily joined her at the weather desk, where he walked her through the basics of delivering a live forecast.

“I know in the UK they call them weather presenters, you can stand over there by the West Coast. All you have to do is touch the screen and you’ll see what’s happening out there,” he explained.

The “Dive” singer, who proved to be a fast learner, began pointing at the screen and interpreting what the shifting maps and graphics meant for viewers.

“I’m out!” Roker joked, adding, “I got nothing now. Wow!”

Fellow host Craig Melvin joined the fun and teased that Dean would be a perfect replacement for their co-anchor , saying, “She’s just as good as Roker.”

As for the British singer, she embraced the moment and playfully declared, “I’ve got a new job now,” adding, “I can’t believe I get to do the weather.”

Besides the hosts of the Today Show, fans also adored their guest, with Instagram users saying she is “such a ball of sunshine.”
