Camila Fernández released an extended version of “Culpa Mía” accompanied by El Mimoso Luis Antonio López.

The ballad features their vocal performance accompanied by an accordion and guitar that give it a traditional Mexican regional sound with heartbreaking lyrics.

“Culpa Mía” addresses regret with phrases like “I only saw what I wanted,” giving voice to emotions that people often don’t confess or reflect on themselves.

Fernández recently opened for her father, Alejandro Fernández, at the Ikea Forum and also sang a couple of songs with him. Her father thanked the audience for welcoming his “cachorra.” He recalled a time when he was the opener for his father, the late Vicente Fernández.

During her performance, she displayed a natural level of poise as she called on the audience to sing along to her song “Todo, todo,” where one side of the public would sing “todo, todo” and the other side would sing “nada, nada,” which the audience at the forum in Inglewood responded to, even though many perhaps had not heard of her song.

The 27-year-old has three albums and one EP. In the “Culpa Mía” video, she is not wearing the classical charro suit, but she did wear it when she opened for her father. She told Billboard, “I’m going to defend Mexican music fiercely because I want my daughter and future generations to keep singing my grandfather’s, my father’s and my own songs. I want them to know about charrería and what it means to wear a charro suit with pride.”
