Meghan Markle makes her first appearance at Paris Fashion Week this weekend in an all-white outfit.
The former actress was spotted arriving at the Balenciaga show on Saturday, Oct. 4. Meghan was dressed mainly in white, including a long-sleeve button-down shirt, matching white pants, and an oversized scarf-like cape. The look was completed with black pointy-toe heels and a coordinating black clutch. Meghan had her hair in a slicked-back bun, and her face was made up in a natural, glowy way. She also accessorized with simple diamond stud earrings.
A spokesperson for Meghan tells PEOPLE, that she attended the Balenciaga show to support Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently assumed the role of Creative Director for the House. It was Pierpolo’s first runway show as the new creative director.
“Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage,” the spokesperson said to the outlet.
“She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different. This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga,” they added about the Duke of Sussex’s relationship with Pierpaolo.
While Meghan did not indicate where she was, she posted a video on her Instagram Stories on Oct. 4 at the Balenciaga show. In the video, her pointy-toe heels and the end of her white pants are seen as she walks down a hallway with a pattern tile flooring. Vitaa and Julian Doré’s Viens on essaie acompanied the video.
This appearance at Paris Fashion Week is Meghan’s debut at the French annual fashion event. But she is no stranger to fashion week shows, Meghan has attended a multitude of shows at New York and Toronto Fashion Weeks between 2013 and 2015, per PEOPE. It was during the time she was working on USA Network’s Suits.
According to Vogue, the mother-of-two made her front-row debut at New York Fashion Week in 2014 at Hervé Léger spring show that year. The outlet also reported that Meghan was a frequent NYFW goer and had attended shows by Tory Burch, Peter Som, Wes Gordon, and Misha Nonoo, to name a few.
Meghan doesn’t attend red carpets like she used to prior to her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, and that still remains even after the couple stepped down from their royal duties. Meghan and Harry tend to appear more at philanthropic events, whether together or solo. But while there have been a few red carpet events, it’s not until today that Meghan has made an appearance at a fashion show.
