This week, it unveiled a new partnership with AMC Networks’ “Future of Film” initiative. The deal will bring six of Cine Latino’s short films to the AMC+ streaming service, putting the festival’s programming and the work of filmmakers in front of even more viewers.

The “Future of Film: Cine Latino” collection will host short films from the festival — the only Midwest fest dedicated to U.S. Latino, Latin American, and Ibero films — on AMC+ through Oct. 31 in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

The collection features “The Ballad of Tita and the Machine” from director Miguel Angel, “Border Hopper” from director Nico Casavecchia, “Agustina” from director Luciana Herrera Caso, “Petalos” from director Nikki Mejia, “Chilly & Milly” from director William D. Caballero, and “Peccadillo” from director Sofia Garza-Barba.

Cine Latino, now in its 13th year, will open on Oct. 8 with Guillermo Del Toro’s highly anticipated Frankenstein.

The fest features five full days of film screenings, parties, and panels before wrapping up on Oct. 12 with the Sundance Award-winning documentary Selena y Los Dinos.
