My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore sent a direct message about fake AI pregnancy photos that have circulated on social media amid her infertility journey.
On Sunday, Oct. 5, the TLC personality, 41, took to Instagram with two photos and a blunt response to the rumors that she’s expecting her first child.
“I hate to even acknowledge this, but after thousands of messages, comments, and real-life inquiries…This first image is AI-generated. It was made from the second image, which I posted in January and is real,” she captioned her update.
In the featured (fake) photo, Thore sat on a bench while leaning one arm on a basketball and holding a strip of sonogram photos in the other, seemingly announcing a pregnancy. The second snap, however, showed her sitting on a bench while leaning on a basketball and resting her chin in the palm of the other hand.
“To me, the first image is obviously fake when I look at the ultrasound or zoom in on my fingers—but it is scary because at first glance, just looking at my body and face, I might also question if this was a real photo.”

Thore issued a “gentle reminder” to her fans, telling them, “1) The internet isn’t real. 2) Internet use (and life) requires critical thinking.”
She also bluntly pointed out, “Anyone writing about / dehumanizing me on a ‘fan page’ or forum is literally just as much a stranger to me as you are. I can promise you that no one who is in my real life is writing about me on the internet, but hundreds of people are mentally ill enough to claim otherwise.”
To conclude the post, Thore declared, “It’s kind of wild to harass a woman with PCOS and fertility issues about whether she’s pregnant or not on a public forum. If and when I’m ready to share, I will. 🤗.”
In the comments, Thore’s fans flooded her with words of support, with one Instagram user writing, “I can’t believe someone did this. I’m so sorry!”
Another shared, “I’m sorry that people are doing this to you and being so rude. Keep shining your light ❤️.”
Someone else wrote, “Damn, before I read the caption, I was so excited for you! As someone who did my own IUI journey as a single woman, I really hope you get what you want! I know how hard it is❤️.”
A different Instagram user admitted, “At first I was excited for you but then read the caption. AI is so scary!!!”
Meanwhile, yet another follower commented, “AI is so scary and I’m so very sorry that people are weaponizing it and using it against you when you are struggling with an issue that is already very difficult to begin with. You are a beautiful and amazing woman with such a big heart! So hold your head high and keep on doing you and always know you are loved. I hope you get your dream no matter what it turns out [to] be. ❤️❤️.”
