No one saw Nicole Kidman’s split from Keith Urban coming, but her pals are reportedly upset with the 57-year-old country singer’s behavior after their divorce was announced.
Even though “One Too Many” singer had moved out of their Nashville, Tennessee home over the summer, Kidman was hoping that a reconciliation was in the works. Instead, there have been rumors about “another woman” with his guitarist, Maggie Baugh, being drawn into the drama. As a reminder, though, any alleged affair between the country singer and Baugh — or anyone else — has not been confirmed.

Still, Kidman’s inner circle is protective of her right now, and they are frustrated at Urban. “Keith looks as if he’s out to try to publicly embarrass and hurt Nic,” a Kidman insider told the Daily Mail. “He’s always been the quieter one, but now that seems to have changed.”

Urban’s recent lyrics change for “The Fighter,” a song that was so special to their 19-year marriage, and made into a “dedication to his young guitarist Maggie Baugh says so much about how he’s dealing with their separation and how he feels about Nic,” according to the source. His reaction to their split has Kidman’s friends rallying around her.
“This is a total 180 from the Keith I know. It seems like a switch has gone off in his head to awaken this vitriol he appears to have for her,” they added.
Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack described what Urban is going through as a “full-blown midlife crisis,” which had Kidman feeling “sad but ready to move on” after the affair allegations were revealed. “Nicole isn’t disputing the rumors, but she’s floored by how blatant it all feels,” an insider explained to Shuter on Oct. 3.
With close friends, including Naomi Watts, comforting the Babygirl star, Kidman will come through stronger once she’s passed through the storm. For Urban, it might be a tougher road because many people are questioning his actions after 19 years with Kidman — and that could affect his standing in Hollywood. The A-list celebrity world is tight and a source told Shuter that “Nicole’s friends have closed ranks” and now, “his name is gone from every list.”
It’s seems to be a warning to Urban that Hollywood is officially #TeamNicole, and it’s time for him to treat his ex with dignity.
