The “Look What You Made Me Do” hitmaker recently shut down any hopes fans may have about her venturing off to space like her former nemesis did. She addressed the topic from a relatable stance, implying she wasn’t saying no because of their contentious past.

Swift opened up about her disinterest in joining a space exploration team like Perry did early this year. The “Roar” singer joined Blue Origin’s first all-female space flight in April alongside Amanda Nguyen, Aisha Bowe, Kerianne Flynn, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez.
Although their trip marked the first all-female space exploration since 1963, it was met with more criticism than awe, a problem Swift addressed in her recent interview. She told “The Scott Mills Breakfast Show” on BBC Radio 2 that she had no desire to go to space.
“Never! Why would I do that? There’s no reason to do that. I don’t want to do that, ever,” Swift declared. “If I go, no one will believe I went. It doesn’t matter if you go, because everyone thinks you didn’t go, or they have a weird take on it. I have no fascination,” she added.

Besides not wanting to be ridiculed like Perry was for traveling to space, Swift explained that she was more afraid of the journey than public opinion. “It’s cold, it’s scary, I don’t know if I can come back down,” she confessed, visibly distraught by the thought.
After regaining control of her emotions, Swift apologized to host Scott Mills for freaking out about the idea of going to space. She implied her aversion towards the journey wasn’t because he asked if she would follow in Perry’s footsteps, but because she took it as a demand to go to space.
Swift’s reaction was relatable and did not suggest any issues in her relationship with Perry. The pair have since reconciled following the end of their infamous feud that had fans and celebrities picking sides.

Swift and Perry’s friendship first made waves in September 2008, when they were photographed together for the first time on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet. The feud between Swift and Perry skyrocketed in September 2014 when Swift revealed her hit song “Bad Blood” was inspired by her fraught relationship with a female singer. Although she did not mention Perry by name, her words led many to believe she was referring to her former pal.
“She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me,” Swift confessed, sparking speculations that she was referring to the 2012 dancers incident. Perry seemingly clapped back by tweeting, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”
The feud continued, with more jabs exchanged between them, including a September 2016 tweet in which Perry claimed she would reconcile with Swift if the latter apologized. Fans also believed Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do“ and Perry’s “Swish Swish“ referenced their feud.

Their reconciliation came seven years before Swift’s engagement to her Kansas City Chiefs beau, Travis Kelce. She addressed their relationship on her BBC Radio 2 show appearance, telling host Mills that she wasn’t trading music for marriage.
PEOPLE reported that Mills had asked if Swift would retire after her wedding, as fans feared, but she assured him her career wasn’t over. She noted that she loves Kelce because he is someone who wholeheartedly supports her career and adores her dedication to music.
