Mark Sanchez’s future with Perry Mattfeld is now uncertain as he faces a potential six-year prison sentence.
On Saturday, Oct. 4, the 38-year-old former NFL star found himself in hot water just before he was scheduled to provide commentary for the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders. He was involved in a stabbing incident with an elderly truck driver, resulting in multiple injuries for both parties.
While Mark is currently recovering and in stable condition, he still has three charges hanging over his head and a court hearing looming. If convicted of the felony battery charge, he could be looking at a substantial prison term, which could separate him from his wife and children for several years.
Mark’s wife Perry leads her own life in the limelight, previously starring in numerous hit TV series and films such as Long Bright River and The Idea of You.
She made her Hollywood debut in 2008, playing FrankenGirl in Disney’s popular sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place.
“He fell in love with me immediately. I’m just kidding,” she previously joked to the Golden Globes.
Half a decade later, Mark popped the question to the actress during a dreamy escape to the Belmond Cap Juluca in Anguilla.
The pair exchanged vows on May 28, 2023 within the walls of a historic 16th-century colonial monastery in Oaxaca, Mexico. His son Daniel served as the ring bearer.
“It was really emotional and special for us,” she told People at the time.
They welcomed their twin daughters earlier this year. When she broke the news to her followers on Instagram, she wrote, “Biggest surprise yet !!”
The duo’s last public outing took place in February 2024 when they both showed up at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
