Aubrey O’Day, fresh off delivering a warning to “young and aspiring individuals” in light of Diddy’s four-year prison sentence, is reminding a would-be critic of these remarks she was “not subpoenaed” in the case.
As previously reported, the Making the Band alum said in an X update last Friday, Oct. 3, that Diddy’s sentence should “serve as a cautionary reminder” for those in pursuit of their dreams.
“Too often, those who misuse their power, even when exposed, face far fewer consequences than the harm inflicted upon their victims,” O’Day said at the time, adding that those who encounter this type of behavior should trust their instincts “and remove yourself from the situation.”
Over the weekend, O’Day’s statement spurred a reaction from an X user who claimed the Danity Kane member “didn’t even bother to testify.” Per O’Day, that’s not accurate.
“Read the article,” O’Day responded, as seen below. “That’s not even what I said. I also [was] NOT SUBPOENAED. Please don’t talk about areas of life in which you lack a proper education. I’ve been advocating for the victims for over 20 plus years, put some respect on my name.”

This isn’t the first time O’Day has spoken out about Diddy. In August, she told Decider about an alleged incident in which she “grabbed a butcher knife” due to the presence of unmarked vehicles near her home.
Diddy was convicted on two prostitution-related charges and found not guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking at the conclusion of his trial in July. Complex’s Shawn Setaro was on hand for last Friday’s sentencing hearing, describing the scene as follows:
“The courtroom and overflow rooms were packed with Combs family and supporters, as well as press and curious observers.”
Before Judge Arun Subramanian read his sentence, Diddy gave a speech during which he said he had been “humbled and broken to my core.” As for what’s next for the Bad Boy Records founder, his legal team has already pointed to an imminent appeal effort.
