Forward Nolan Burke has signed with the Reading Royals for the 2025-26 season after being released from his tryout with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Burke, 22, had 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 55 games last season with the Wichita Thunder. With the signing of Burke, the Royals now have 17 forwards and 28 players at Training Camp. Reading plays its only preseason game on Friday Night as they host the Adirondack Thunder.
The Peterborough, Ontario, native is entering his third season in the ECHL, having played for the Atlanta Gladiators and Wichita Thunder. In 102 career games, he has put up 18 goals and 28 assists for 46 points. Burke also played in one game with the Milwaukee Admirals during the 2023-24 season. Prior to going pro, he spent parts of five seasons in the OHL with the Sarnia Sting. During his time with the Sting, he put up 90 goals and 64 assists for 154 points in 177 games. In 2023, he led the Sting with 50 goals in 56 games. He would add eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 18 games during the 2023 OHL playoffs. Burke would add three assists in four games with Peterborough during the 2018 OHL Cup.
The 6’2, 201lb winger began his junior career in the OJHL with the Trenton Golden Hawks and Pickering Panthers. In 45 OJHL games, he has six goals and seven assists for 13 points. All of his points came as a member of the Panthers.
