The Timothée Chalamet flow is no more.
After sporting a mid-length cut for the last year, the 29-year-old actor just debuted a new hairstyle ahead of the premiere of his upcoming film, “Marty Supreme.” In what was meant to be a promotional video for the Josh Safdie-directed movie, in which he stars alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, shared on his Instagram Live on Tuesday, Chalamet emerged out of a vat of orange ping pong balls with a buzzcut.

Speculation that Chalamet had shaved his head erupted earlier on Tuesday after he was spotted at a special screening of “Marty Supreme” at the New York Film Festival on Monday. Here, the “Dune” star was seen wearing a baseball cap; the sides of his head noticeably bare. However, while the covering remained firmly on, fans were unsure whether he’d rid his entire head of all its hair.
Chalamet has worked with several hair groomers over the years, including Christine Nelli and Jamie Taylor. In an email sent to WWD, Nelli’s team confirmed she was not the artist behind Chalamet’s buzzcut. WWD has reached out to Taylor for a comment.
WWD previously reported Chalamet’s influence in the resurgence of the “old money haircut,” a style trend belonging to the 1950s. The look is described as a quiff with little to no hair sticking out from the sides. According to Fresha, Google search for this aesthetic saw a 122 percent increase in the last year and 5,000 search queries in June.
