WILMINGTON — Cameron Art Museum is launching Music@CAM, a new performance series bringing musicians from across North Carolina and beyond into conversation with the exhibitions and artwork on view at the museum.
Beginning in October 2026, Music@CAM will present four performances throughout the year, featuring gospel, choral music, bluegrass, and folk traditions.
“Music has a remarkable ability to bring people together and create a shared experience,” said September Krueger, CAM’s curator of education and public programs, said in a press release. “With Music@CAM, visitors can encounter the ideas and stories within our exhibitions through another art form. These performances invite audiences to listen, reflect, and connect with one another while deepening their experience of the art on view.”
The series begins Sunday, Oct. 11, with Faith & Harmony, a celebrated family gospel sextet from Greenville, North Carolina. The performance is presented in connection with “Rooted in Memory: The Gullah Geechee Vision of Jonathan Green,” an exhibition celebrating the artist’s vibrant depictions of family, faith, labor, music, and community within the Gullah Geechee culture of the American South.
Faith & Harmony carries forward eastern North Carolina’s sacred soul, quartet, and Jubilee singing traditions. The six members — Kadesha Spaight, Renay Sugg, KeAmber Daniels, Andrea Edwards, Christy Moody, and Tinesha Weaver — are the granddaughters of Johnny Ray Daniels and Dorothy Vines, founding members of the celebrated gospel group The Glorifying Vines Sisters.
Formed in 2012, Faith & Harmony is known for its layered Jubilee harmonies and powerful vocal performances. The group has appeared on PBS North Carolina’s “Shaped by Sound,” performed at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, and released the album “I Heard The Voice through Bible & Tire Recording Co.”

Rock Creek Singers
Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026 | 6:30-7:30 p.m.
The Rock Creek Singers, a select ensemble of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC, will perform an a cappella program of Broadway, pop, and inspirational music carrying messages of equality, acceptance, and connection.
Founded in 1981, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC is recognized as an LGBTQ+ voice for equality in the nation’s capital. Through performances presented nationally and internationally, the organization uses music to promote equality, pursue justice, and help audiences overcome differences.
Dear MariBella and the Pigkickers
Thursday, Feb. 4, 2027 | 7-9 p.m.
With music rooted in the Blue Ridge Mountains and their feet planted firmly in the Carolina sand, Dear MariBella and the Pigkickers bring family ties, tradition, and playful sibling banter to the stage.
The Wilmington-area bluegrass band formed in 2022 and features siblings Isabella on fiddle, AnnMari on guitar, Pete on banjo, and Chris on mandolin, with their father on bass. Their performances blend faith, kinship, captivating melodies, and plenty of heart.
Les Fontanelles
Sunday, June 13, 2027 | 2-4 p.m.
Wilmington folk group Les Fontanelles pairs harmony-driven music with the sweet and salty sensibilities of life along the North Carolina coast. Their sound draws inspiration from Townes Van Zandt, Dire Straits, The Byrds, Blaze Foley, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Mazzy Star and Magnolia Electric Co.
The five-piece group includes members of Wilmington bands No Dollar $hoes, Masonboro Sound, and The Barnraisers: Carson Jewell, Jesse Jewell, Richard Welsh, Shane Lippard, and Tiff Reece Jewell. Their music finds humor, love, and beauty amid life’s heartaches, offering audiences a performance that may inspire them to cry, cackle, and blush before the afternoon is over.
