On September 28, fans were shocked and saddened when legendary country music star, Dolly Parton, announced on Instagram that she would be postponing her Las Vegas shows due to health concerns. While she didn’t go into details about what is happening, she said, “I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
Fans became much more concerned about Dolly’s condition after her younger sister, Freida Estelle Parton, shared the following update:
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”

Earlier this morning, Dolly’s other sister, Stella Parton, posted an update of her own on Facebook about Dolly’s health, and what she had to say is much more guarded than her sister Freida’s message.
“My big sister Dolly posted last week, giving her fans an update concerning her health and that she has been seeking treatment for kidney stones. My sister Freida is concerned and ask for prayers on Dolly’s behalf. I personally, respect the privacy of ALL my family members and will not disrespect them by discussing their personal business with anyone.”
She continued:
“If you need further information please go to their pages. That being said, those of you who feel the need to attack or insult me because I don’t serve as your information booth, you aren’t really fans. If you were you would not make such an effort to say some of the hurtful things you’ve posted on my different social media platforms in the past 24 hours!”
Stella then added, “I, personally, appreciate those of you with sincere concerns on Dolly’s behalf and so do my family members.”

Who is Stella Parton?
Stella Parton is one of Dolly Parton’s 11 siblings. At 76 years old, she’s three years younger than Dolly, and she’s one of the middle sisters in the family.
Stella is a star in her own right, as she’s a singer-songwriter who has more than 36 albums in her repertoire. Her first album, “I Want to Hold You in My Dreams Tonight,” was released in 1975.
She also penned a memoir about her life called Tell It Sister, Tell It: Memories, Music and Miracles.
She’s also featured in a new movie on PureFlix, Nothing Is Impossible, which began streaming on October 6.
