Spafford has announced the release of its latest album, a compilation of live tracks culled from their recent summer tour. Simply titled Live, Vol. 5, it opens with a monstrous “Pursuit of Trance” and a much extended take of “Windmill,” both from Spafford’s recent appearance at New York City’s (le) poisson rouge on June 13. This new release will be available on October 10, 2025 on all major streaming platforms or pre-save & pre-order now.
Mixed and mastered by Isaac Civitello and featuring album art by Sean Tierney, Live, Vol. 5 showcases standout moments from Spafford’s 2025 tour, with each track selected to represent the band’s live evolution and trademark jam-driven soundscapes as they continue to hone their sound with new bassist Shon Gordon.
Other highlights on this latest live album include a funked out Steve Miller Band cover courtesy of the rhythmic “Jam – Swingtown” from August 8 in Cincinnati, an introspective “Night After Night,” and the rarely played “Comfortable,” recorded during a particularly electric Georgia performance. The album also features a very rare “Soundcheck Jam” from Visulite Theatre in Charlotte, NC on July 18, a 23-minute exploration that blurs the line between rehearsal and performance.
