The beloved Hollywood star has passed away in California, with no further details available at this time.
Diane was known for her iconic roles in movies such as The Godfather, Father Of The Bride and The First Wives Club and became a household name thanks to her career spanning generations.
The late actress’s family have asked fans for their privacy as they grieve for her.
Fans of the star have rushed to pay tribute to her after learning of her death.

Diane found fame in the 1970s, winning an Oscar for Actress in 1977 for her role in Annie Hall.
She was born in Los Angeles in 1946 as Diane Hall, the eldest of four children. Her father worked as a civil engineer, while her mom was a housewife.

She previously shared with PEOPLE in 2004 how her mother had inspired her career in the arts saying, “Secretly in her heart of hearts she probably wanted to be an entertainer of some kind. She sang. She played the piano. She was beautiful. She was my advocate.”
In 2021 Keaton added a new element to her career when she starred in Justin Bieber’s music video for his hit Ghost, representing his grandmother.
She regularly used social media to update her fans on her life.
Looking back on her career, she told PEOPLE in 2019, “I don’t know anything, and I haven’t learned. Getting older hasn’t made me wiser. Without acting I would have been a misfit.”
She also reflected on why she had never married adding, “Today I was thinking, I’m the only one in my generation of actresses who has been a single woman all her life. I’m really glad I didn’t get married. I’m an oddball. I remember in high school, this guy came up to me and said, ‘One day you’re going to make a good wife.’ And I thought, ‘I don’t want to be a wife. No.’”
She was previously romatically linked to huge stars Al Pacino and Warren Beatty.
Diane is survived by her two adoptive children, daughter Dexter and son Duke, whom she adopted in 1996 and 2001, respectively.
